Arc. Omigbodun Launches Skills-Acquisition Partnership for Osun Central Youth

📅 July 22, 2026 ✍️ admin

Arc. Goke Omigbodun has announced a partnership with technical and vocational training institutions across Osun Central, aimed at giving young people practical, job-ready skills rather than paper qualifications alone.

The initiative will begin with pilot programmes in Osogbo and Ede North, focusing on trades directly tied to local economic activity — building and construction skills, agro-processing techniques, and small-business/enterprise management. Arc. Omigbodun says the choice of focus areas isn’t accidental.

“I’ve employed people. I’ve run a school. I know the gap between what a certificate says and what someone can actually do on a job site or in a shop,” he said. “This partnership is about closing that gap, so young people leave with skills employers actually want.”

The campaign says it is in ongoing discussions with additional institutions to expand the programme across the remaining local government areas, with more details to be shared as partnerships are finalized. Interested vocational schools or training centers have been invited to reach out through the campaign’s contact channels.
