Inside the Plan: How Arc. Omigbodun Wants to Fix Osun Central’s Roads

Of the four pillars in Arc. Goke Omigbodun’s “Blueprint for Osun Central,” infrastructure comes first — deliberately. “You can’t build an economy, a school system, or anything else on top of roads farmers can’t use to reach their own markets,” he explained during a recent community session in Ede.

The plan specifically targets rural roads connecting farming communities to trading centers, arguing that poor road conditions are quietly costing the district in ways that don’t show up in headline statistics — spoiled produce, longer transport times, higher costs passed on to buyers, and farmers unable to expand because they can’t reliably move what they grow.

Alongside road rehabilitation, the agenda calls for a shift toward planned, affordable housing schemes rather than unregulated development, and expanded access to potable water in wards currently underserved. Arc. Omigbodun has said his architecture and estate management background gives him a practical view of how these three issues — roads, housing, and water — are more connected than they first appear, since poor planning in one area tends to compound problems in the others.

“This isn’t abstract policy language,” he said. “I’ve spent my career reading site plans and knowing exactly what happens when the foundation is wrong. Osun Central’s foundation needs work, and that’s where I want to start.”
